Keeping Color from Benny

Cigar the evil smoke spirit saw color coming into Little Benny’s life. Cigar tried to keep his world all smoked up and black and dark. He did not want Little Benny to see the light and what was right. Cigar tried to work on Little Benny’s mind. With Cigar on his mind, Benny could not see positive. Sometimes Little Benny could not rest and think clearly. He kept on having bad dreams. It was hard for Cigar to work on Little Benny’s mind when he was awake, because Benny prayed so much and read the good book. It was hard for Cigar to interfere.

Even though Benny’s world seemed black and white, Cigar noticed that he was becoming more and more real. So he felt that he had to become real too. When Benny matured and became wise in the Lord, Cigar felt that he needed to mature and become wise in evil.

Benny had aged some smoking his cigar. The wrinkles in his face began to decease as he stopped smoking. The yellow stains from smoking on his teeth began to disappear. His lungs were feeling much better. More women began to take notice of Benny, and they also tried to tempt him into their bedrooms. All of Little Benny’s friends became more jealous of him. He began to see how his friends were bringing him down buying him cigars and beers. Little Benny saw his health going down until he found real life in Jesus Christ.

Little Benny Tempted

Little Benny was tempted a number of times after he stopped smoking. The evil spirit of smoke entered into Benny’s friends to tempt him. They said to him, “Come on Benny. Smoke a cigar. Nobody lives forever.”

Benny ignored all of the things his friends said to him. He thought long and hard about how the devil tempted Eve in the Bible. Little Benny thought, “I’m going through the same temptation.” Little Benny could see his friends making fun of him and he recognized the spirit that was in them. Then he remembered how Satan tempted Jesus (Matthew 4:11).

Sometimes the smell of cigars made Little Benny want to go back to smoking. His friends would blow smoke in his face, and he knew he had to get away from them. Little Benny’s friends saw that he did not desire to hang around them anymore. They began to call him names and say that he was anti-social. Little Benny did not want to loose his friends, but he did not want to loose his life. He chose to do what was right, and he knew his friends were not his friends. Benny knew that they did not care. So when Little Benny gave up his friends, that was a second battle that he had won, but another one took its place.

Little Benny Overcomes His Addiction Completely

Little Benny finally overcame his smoking addiction completely. He overcame with the help of God. Little Benny did a lot of praying, and he even read his Bible to keep his mind away from smoking cigars. That is how his mind and determination became strong. Little Benny was no longer a prisoner of his smoking addiction. That is one big battle that he had won, but another battle took its place.

When Little Benny put out his last cigar, the death spirit was upset. One night while Little Benny was asleep, the spirit paid his mind a visit to enter into his dreams. The spirit appeared to Benny as a giant cigar head with eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. It was lying on a cigar box. The evil spirit said to him, “You think I’m dead, Fred, but I‘m not. I’m just down because I’m out.”

Little Benny saw himself smiling at him. Benny was seeing his own spirit. He saw his spirit take the cigar label from around the big cigar man’s head. Little Benny’s spirit laid the label across his shoulder as if it were a belt that he had won in a wrestling match. His spirit said to him, “You’re a winner, Benny.”

Little Benny Gives up on Drinking and Smoking

After Little Benny made up his mind to give up drinking and smoking, some color began to come into his life in the strips and frames that he lived in. His cigar was a monster in his bad dreams because he smoked so much. Little Benny loved smoking cigars more than he loved drinking. So the cigar was his biggest nightmare. Well, Little Benny’s cigar left his dreams because he quit smoking. When his drinking and smoking stopped, he began to think better, and his dreams became good dreams. His sixth sense grew stronger.

Old Man Crucified

Little Benny did not want to smoke cigars anymore because he knew it was harmful to his body. He gave his heart to the Lord and became a Christian. Little Benny did not quit smoking over night. With the help of the Lord, he stopped smoking. Little Benny was no longer enslaved to sin and cigars. His old sinful self was crucified with Christ.

Tired of Being Controlled

Little Benny was tired of being controlled by his cigar. He wanted to quit, but his addiction would not let him quit. He could spiritually see in his mind that the cigar was making fun of him. Spiritually, Benny's cigar was human to his mind. He thought, "I have smoked too many of them." Little Benny smoked about 3 cigars a day. He smoked one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one at night. Little Benny tried to smoke 2 a day.
